Given the current global crisis due to the COVID-19 pandemic which impacted, among others, the Rwanda education sector, with the closure of all schools throughout the country, VVOB has prepared for full online and distance delivery of the continuous professional development (CPD) training programmes. These programmes were offered face-to-face and partly in blended modality before the COVID-19 outbreak. Professional learning communities (PLC) as one of the CPD programme approaches was revised as well.

PLC framework has been adjusted to support school leaders in the current context. VVOB changed the focus of the PLCs to help teachers and school leaders reflect on how they can take up their role during and after school lockdown.

The purpose of this report is to share the progress of the first PLC meeting organised by sector education inspectors (SEIs) and school leaders.
